LFE 900 wines are a premium selection of red wines produced by the Chilean winery Luis Felipe Edwards (LFE). The "900" in the name refers to the fact that the grapes are sourced from high-altitude vineyards located at approximately 900 meters above sea level in the Colchagua Valley, which results in intensely flavored, slow-ripened grapes due to the cooler environment.
LFE 900 Malbec: This is a full-bodied red wine made exclusively from Malbec grapes. It is characterized by aromas of cherries, prunes, violets, and chocolate, with a powerful palate, firm tannins, and a long finish. It is typically aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
LFE 900 Blend (or Single Vineyard Blend): This is a red blend, typically composed of Syrah, Petite Sirah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre grapes. Other variations of the blend might include Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo. It has been eared that the 2019 vintage varietals are 96% Malbec and 4% Voignier. This wine is noted for ripe, dense black fruit flavors, with muscular yet velvety tannins.
